About Us
The Christian Community Concern Centre or 4C’s FOOD BANK and the LILY are staffed and directed solely by volunteers. The Board of Directors consist of representatives from area churches.
All monies from the LILY go directly to the 4Cs and help to provide for the established programs. Churches, schools, organizations and individuals generously donate food, money, items and many, many hours of labour to the 4Cs’ organization.

Our History
In 1979, the 4Cs was founded by the ministers of the Anglican, United, Baptist and Full Gospel Lighthouse churches. These dedicated ministers took turns counselling and caring for the needs of people. Donations enabled them to provide some food to those in need.
In 1985, the Drag River Municipal Building on Maple Avenue became available and the Municipality offered the building to the 4Cs. Services then expanded to include the LILY which sold second-hand clothing etc., thus providing more income to purchase food.
In 2005, the Haliburton Campus of Fleming College was offering a course to build an environmentally friendly sustainable building. And once again, the Municipality showed its support by offering the 4Cs the chance to become recipients of this building and offered to help with the cost. The 4Cs successfully campaigned for and raised their share of the cost.
Did you know?
Our sustainable building was built using bales of straw, pop bottles, hempcrete, strawboard wall panels among other materials? See the story of how our sustainable building was built through community support and partnerships.
